About The Little Nightlight

The Little Nightlight was started after spending too much where you probably are right now: exhausted, overwhelmed, and Googling things at 3am that probably made the anxiety worse.

After a lot of reading, researching, and figuring out what actually worked, things eventually clicked.

This site exists to share all of that clearly, honestly, and without the fluff so you can get there faster.

My story

Like most parents, I thought I had a rough idea of what we were getting into. I did not.

The newborn stage was harder than expected. Then came the 4-month regression. Then nap transitions. Then doing it all over again with our second. Each stage brought its own version of exhaustion, and each time I found ourselves back at square one — reading conflicting advice and wondering what I was missing.

Over time, and through a lot of reading, researching, and quiet trial and error, things started to make sense. Wake windows were the first breakthrough. Understanding nap transitions was the second. And slowly, sleep — real sleep, for everyone — became something I actually had again.

The Little Nightlight exists because I wished something like it had existed for our family.

What I believe about baby sleep

Every baby is different. Schedules and wake windows are starting points, not rules. The goal is always to understand your baby, not to force them into a template.

Tired parents make everything harder. You cannot pour from an empty cup. Getting your baby's sleep sorted isn't selfish, it's one of the most important things you can do for your whole family.

Honest is better than perfect. I’m not going to tell you there's one magic method that works for everyone. I’m going to tell you what the evidence suggests, what worked for me, and help you find what works for you.

You're doing better than you think! Seriously.
